Happy Halloween 2010

Every year our wonderful neighborhood University Terrace has a Halloween Kid Parade.  They do it instead of door to door trick or treating.  Everyone who is going to participate in the parade meets at the southeast corner of the neighborhood and the parade goes all the way up Middlebury St. to Clemson St. where it ends and you can get a glass of "witches brew".

It is so much fun.  There are hundreds of kids and parents that do the parade and Owen and I always invite our friends and family to come join the fun.  Even the folks in the neighborhood who's kids are grown, those who have children to small to trick or treat or don't have kids at all and just want to pass out candy come down pass out candy and see all the kiddos in their costumes.

It is just one of the many, many reason that I love our neighborhood so much!

This year Grace wanted to be a mermaid.  I searched and searched for the perfect mermaid costume and couldn't find one that we loved (thank goodness we started out search early, back in August)  After not finding anything GG (Owen's Mother, who is a wonderful seamstress) said that she would love to make Grace's mermaid costume.  So we went to JoAnn's picked out all the beautiful fabric, got a pattern and she got started.  I think she stared to rethink her offer very soon after the project began.  None the less, she finished it and it was so cute.  Grayson was a Bumble Bee, Cousin Ryan went as Josh Hamilton the Texas Ranger, our friend Jack was a sailor and sweet Dahlia was the cutest Little Lamb you have ever seen.

Enjoy!
